KICK-OFF MEETING (VIRTUAL) OF THE SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON ESTABLISHING A NEW WORKING GROUP ON FOLLOW-UP AUDIT, 2 FEBRUARY 2024

The 1st Kick-off Meeting of the Special Committee on Establishing the Working Group on Follow-up Audit (WGFA) was held on 2 February 2024 with the participation of 80 delegates from 19 SAIs virtually. This meeting was remarkable with the guidance by the four key members of the INTOSAI Governing Board: SAI Brazil, esteemed INTOSAI Chair; SAI Egypt as INTOSAI 1st Vice Chair; SAI Austria with vast experience serving as the INTOSAI General Secretariat; and SAI India as the Chair of INTOSAI KSC. Also, the 14 SAIs that have willingly joined us on this journey: Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, Georgia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Türkiye, Uganda, and the valuable participation of SAI Australia as an observer.

The meeting has brought forth and engage in discussions on three pivotal documents: the draft Terms of Reference (TOR) for Special Committee, along with the Draft Surveys and Outlines of the Feasibility Report. All 17 out of 18 members of the meeting have presented a brief introduction of their SAIs' follow-up mechanisms and expectations upon joining WGFA. Through this session, SAI Malaysia received favourable responses, constructive feedback and positive commentary from all esteemed Special Committee members.
